General Membership Meeting

There will be a General Membership meeting at 4:00PM on Wednesday, October 11, at the LMEA office. Voting for delegates to the PSEA House of Delegates will be on the agenda. Please plan to attend.

Mideast Region Retirement Workshop

For the past several years, the Mideast Region PSEA has offered successful workshops for members. This year, the MER is offering the Retirement Workshop/Dinner on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Williamson Restaurant in Willow Grove. If interested, see you building rep for more information.

Health Insurance Benefits

Please read Article 43 and 44 of our contract to learn about Health Care Insurance benefits.

You can familiarize yourself with the health, prescription, dental, vision and flexible spending plans by visiting www.lmsd.org, then to Virtual Employment, and then to New Employees Forms. Other descriptions for the plans are found at the Independence Blue Cross, Aetna, and Delta Dental websites. A limited number of printed brochures may be picked up in Human Resources

If you choose to waive health/prescription insurance, you are entitled to dental insurance and may participate in the flex spending plan.

New Teacher Workshop

The Mideast Region of the PSEA will be hosting a New Teacher Workshop on Thursday, October 19 at the Mideast Region Office in Montgomeryville from 4:45-6:30PM for teachers with 1-5 years of service. A light dinner will be served.

Workshop topics will include: tenure, certification, ratings, negotiations, legal rights, PSEA member benefits and more. Call 1-800-492-2727 to register.
