Board Elections: A. Flicker reported surveys are out to the local candidates. We will be interviewing the Democratic candidates on 10/18 and the Republican candidates on 10/25. A phone bank will be conducted prior to the election in November. All members who live in the District are strongly encouraged to support pro-public education candidates. Turnout will likely be very low. A. Flicker added we will not endorse anyone yet until we interview the candidates and the election gets closer.

New Business: C. SantaMaria explained the new guidelines regarding the number of hotel reservations/nights for this, and future Houses of Delegates meetings. It was agreed that a new policy and practice be drafted to address the expenses related to the House of Delegates.

Elections for the PSEA House of Delegates took place. Since there were fewer nominations than ballot positions all nominees were elected.

The following members were elected to represent the LMEA at the House of Delegates in 2007-08:

Prof: A. Flicker, A. Avellino, P. Peterson, M. Stettner, G. Rosazza, J. Gaines, M. Rios, and C. SantaMaria.

Support Professional: D. Mandarino, D. Williams, L. McDevitt, V. Fedeli, M. Mixon, and J. Ruse.

A. Avellino made motion to adjourn, second by D. Mandarino. The meeting was adjourned at 4:27PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Michael Stettner, Secretary
