General Membership Meeting

May 16, 2007

President D. Pendino called the meeting to order at 4:05 PM.

Motion made to approve the March General Membership meeting minutes. - Approved.

Officer’s Reports:

President’s Report: D. Pendino gave the following report:

• Issues about June 15 th make up day were addressed. Many high school staff were already there or well on their way to school when the decision to close school was made. Staff would like credit for attending the day. Dr. Yoder disagreed and said day will be made up on June 15 th as ISDO/GSDO. Contract states we only have 2 ISDO/GSDO days per year and this would be a 3 rd.
• LMEA Elections will be held May 22 nd. Reps should return ballot boxes to LMEA office after election.
• Policy review for banquet - possibly recognize people differently based on years of service. More will be discussed on this in future meetings.

VP Support: V. Fedeli gave the following report:

• The ESP House of Delegates met on May 5-6. They voted to raise support dues $3 per year

in 2007-08 due to rising costs for arbitration.

• 2. ESP core school in Gettysburg in July is for Future Leaders – congratulations to Monica Mixon who was invited to attend.

Treasurer: D. Mandarino made motion to approve the April Treasurer’s report – Approved.

Committee Reports:

Constitution: NR

Elections: Members reminded about the upcoming LMEA elections. Also, each building must conduct a building rep election ASAP. Please send results of building rep elections to D. Pendino and E. DeStefano. The ballots for the upcoming LMEA elections must be returned in the boxes to the LMEA office after voting is completed.

Health & Safety: A. Flicker noted there is some discussion for a wellness center for the district - will be investigated through H & S over the next several months.

Legislation: NR

Minority Affairs: NR

PACE: C. SantaMaria noted the final report will be coming in June. The awarding of the coveted trophy will be at the banquet.

PR&R: NR

Public Relations: NR

Social: A. Flicker reported on the upcoming LMEA banquet. The banquet will be held Thursday May 31 st at Clothier Hall. Checks should be made out to LMEA. Reps should return forms and checks to A. Flicker or L. McDevitt. If you know of anyone retiring let A. Flicker or L. McDevitt know ASAP.
