LMEA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES

President D. Pendino called the meeting to order at 10:31 A.M.

Motion to approve the minutes from the May 2005 General Membership Meeting, second by V. Fedeli. - Approved.

Treasurer: Motion to approve the July Treasurer's report. Approved.

CNC: NR

Health & Safety: NR

Legislative: NR

PACE: C. SantaMaria encouraged members to contribute to this fund. PACE is a fund which supports pro-public education candidates at the local, state, and national level. Contribution forms will be sent to members in a few weeks. Each member is encouraged to contribute at least $10 to this worthwhile fund.

Social: NR

Special Services: NR

Sunshine: NR

Minority Affairs: NR

Membership: NR

CARE: NR

President's Report: D. Pendino emphasized the benefits of contributing to the PACE fund before highlighting items in the new contract.

The Support and Professional Evaluation Plans were briefly reviewed. The Professional Plan is now more streamlined for the district.
The importance of Just Cause was reviewed – there was no change in this language.
Due Process – members reminded of Loudermill and Weingarten rights – no change in this language.
Arrive late/Leave early – this is new language.
Closing due to weather emergency – this is new language.
Confidential Personnel File – letters of reprimand are now expunged after 5 years.

C. SantaMaria made motion to adjourn, second by V. Fedeli. The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 A.M.
