LMEA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES April 19, 2005

President D. Pendino called the meeting to order at 4:19 pm.

D. Pendino reminded the purpose of this meeting was to review the new tentative agreement and allow members to ask questions. D. Pendino thanked those on CNC and the officers for their work for development the TA. Questions would be permitted after the summary of the TA.

A. Flicker gave the summary of the new/changed items in the TA.

D. Atkiss reported on the salary structure, the rationale for changes, and the how the increase percentage was determined.

 

Questions from the attending members followed:


•  Evaluation for support staff will be the same.
•  Dental benefits will be the same.
•  Special Ed Case Managers - Speech Therapist loose 2 IEP days - those staff listed will be included - if you are already given IEP days you would be considered a case manager.
•  Dual Masters and MFA includes speech therapists - grievance still pending for speech therapists.
•  IEP days must be approved through HR and recorded on AESOP.
•  Those district employees married to other district employees cannot receive the cash bonus if one waives their health plan.
•  You must be superannuated upon retirement or have at least 25 years of service AND be at least 55 years old to be eligible for the proposed severance pay values.
•  Professionals may be required to sign in but not sign out. This procedure may be electronic.
•  There is no language regarding class size.

D. Pendino reminded another informational meeting will take place at 4PM on Wednesday April 20.
