President’s Report:

1. D. Pendino stressed the importance of Educational Associations in the increasingly challenging environment brought on by “No Child Left Behind” legislation and other un(der)funded mandates. Teacher bashing occurs often as a result of frequent incomplete/incorrect reporting of educational issues in the press. We must understand what potentially lies ahead for public education if we are complacent or indifferent to these issues. Members are encouraged to become aware and involved to maintain unity and fairness in our Association.

2. D. Pendino discussed what the LMEA does, when we meet, and the functions of our committees.
