Committee Reports:

Constitution: P. Dawson reported that PSEA Mideastern Region reviewed our Constitution and By-Laws and made several minor suggestions. The LMEA Constitution committee met in February 2006 and discussed these suggestions and drafted some proposed changes. These changes will be voted on at the March 2006 LMEA General Membership meeting.

Minority Affairs: This year’s Minority Affairs conference is scheduled for March 17-19 in Harrisburg.

PACE: C. SantaMaria reported on current contributions – BCMS currently has the most contributors, highest percentage of contributors, and highest contribution total. Members may still contribute. Send forms and checks to C. SantaMaria at Harriton. The combined member contributions for this school year has surpassed $10,000.

PR&R: P. Dawson gave brief update of current grievances– let P. Dawson or V. Fedeli know of any unsatisfactory evaluations.

CARE: M. Rios reported they have two initiatives to work on over the next two school years. One is pre-school education – the District recognizes that not all students entering our schools go to a private preschool and that many of them receive daycare at a private home setting. Our plan is to reach out to the community and give them information on how to best prepare their children for elementary school. The other initiative is to develop an academic roadmap through the LMSD. People in the District don’t know what course options are needed if they are interested in attending college.
