Special General Membership Meeting – January 5, 2005

There will be a Special General Membership meeting on January 5, 2005, in the LMHS auditorium at 4:15PM. The purpose of the meeting is to inform members about upcoming negotiations and the contract proposal. This meeting has been rescheduled from December 9, 2004 because of conflicts with scheduled parent conferences at the elementary schools.

CNC Surveys

Building reps have distributed negotiation surveys. Please complete the surveys and return to your building rep by November 23, 2004. The data is compiled and used by CNC during negotiations. The results enable CNC to prioritize during bargaining.

American Education Week

Join educators all across the country during the week of November 14-20 to celebrate American Education Week. Wednesday, November 17 will be a day to honor the bus drivers, cafeteria workers, secretaries, instructional assistants and other support professionals who positively impact our school community. Friday, November 19 will be set aside to honor the work of substitute teachers. This year’s theme is Celebrating the American dream. You can find more information at www.nea.org/aew. Mideast Region Retirement Workshop

For the past several years, the Mideast Region PSEA has offered successful workshops for members. This year, the MER is offering the Retirement Workshop/Dinner on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at Williamson Restaurant in Willow Grove. If interested, see you building rep for more information.

LMEA Unit / Officers Meetings
Throughout the year, unit meetings will be held prior to officers meetings at all buildings. December’s meeting will be held Wednesday, November 10 at 3:35 at Merion. Meetings for other buildings will be announced monthly in the AppleCore and posted in your building. Unit meetings give you the chance to make suggestions and voice concerns with your LMEA officers.

Executive Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month in the LMEA office at 4:00PM except November 15.
